Eyebrow Aftercare

For about 5 days your brow tattoo will be darker than the healed result, please have patience.  The tattoo will appear healed in about a week, although deep healing occurs over 4-6 weeks.

Care

2-3 hours after your tattoo, with clean hands, use one of the provided cotton rounds to gently blot both of your brows.  This removes any accumulated body fluid and crusting.  Carefully apply a rice grain sized amount of Aftercare Ointment using a Q-tip or microbrush. Repeat 2 hours later

Before bed blot again and carefully reapply aftercare product.  Use a clean pillow case and try to sleep on your back for the first few nights.

Day 2 repeats the blotting process 4 times, morning, afternoon, evening and night.  Follow with a rice grain amount of aftercare each time.

You may shower with care, avoiding your face, and then gently remove any accumulated water using a Q-tip or tissue directly afterward.  Do not leave your brows wet for any long period of time.

On days 3 - 10, you no longer need to blot your brows, but continue with regular aftercare ointment. Expect some itching as healing takes place.

  • Avoid cleansers, AHA’s & Glycolic Acid for 14 days.

  • Avoid sun, sunbeds, sauna, swimming and hot yoga for 7-10 days.

  • Avoid rubbing or scratching, colour may be accidentally removed.

  • Avoid cosmetics on your brows 7 days.

  • Do not tint your brows for at least 14 days.

  • If you are having a chemical peel or MRI advise your technician you have an iron-oxide tattoo.

  • Ensure laser technicians avoid pigmented areas, laser will darken it.

Long Term

Brow pigment is iron-oxide based, it naturally fades over time.  Most people have a colour boosting tattoo every 1-2 years.  Rate of fading depends on skin type, sun exposure and body chemistry; always use sunscreen, and try to maintain healthy iron levels as low iron may result in rapid fading.

Please remember, aftercare affects the outcome.  Failure to follow these instructions may result in colour loss.
