Permanent Makeup Corrections

When a tattoo is no longer attractive one must consider the age of the tattoo, the person’s body chemistry and short/long term aftercare. Colour change with fading is a pitfall. Another sad reality, learning the hard way some practitioners are less meticulous than others, and with inexperienced artists mistakes can happen. We can end up with unsightly tattoos from the onset.

Fortunately correction work is a game changer! Sometimes a fresh tattoo is all that is needed to distract from the old (or new). But, in some cases areas of tattoo need to be removed; methods include acids, salts, surgically or by electrocautery.

Each case is different and complex, and often multiple stages of treatment are necessary to achieve the desired results.

I’ve seen enough bad camouflage tattoo over the years to confidently say in most cases, less is more.

A corrective hair-stroke tattoo would result in a criss-cross pattern and not be effective in this scenario.
